Harvard Business Review recently published an article about the comeback of print catalogs. The article states that the number of catalog mailings grew to 11.9 billion in 2013, according to the Direct Marketing Association. This number hasn’t been that high since catalog mailings hit their peak in 2007.
Why are catalogs returning as such a popular print marketing tool? They provide a way for companies to market specific products or services to the right customers based on their online customer databases, including purchase history. Catalogs can also be used for content marketing and to build the brand. Each booklet can be filled with stories and images to convey and express a brand personality. Successful catalogs integrate social media and email marketing throughout its pages to provide a valuable and memorable experience for the customer.
Here at Acara Partners, we believe in the power of the catalog. For our clients, we have created a hybrid between a magazine and a catalog called the “magalog.” It contains the advertising potential of a catalog with the flow and friendliness of a magazine. The magalog we created for one of our long-time clients, Kim Marinetto, Owner, RN and Master Aesthetician of AVIE! MedSpa and Laser Center had only positive reactions! Kim reported her AVIE! Magalog was high quality and very informational. “I love how unique and fun it is,” she said, “it’s a great way to set ourselves apart from other competitors in our area,” She also reported, “It was great for our clients to see all the services we offer in a fun and easy-to-read way rather than in a boring brochure.”
If you want to set yourself apart from the competition, consider updating your traditional brochures to modern catalogs or Acara magalogs. Expose your customers to your services, products and your story with a magalog!
